Washinton, a Pan American World Airlines pilot, died Friday in Danville after a short illness.
A son of the late Francis Alfred and Nell Koester Washington, he was a graduate of Montgomery Bell Academy, where he was a star football player. He attended Vanderbilt University and served as a naval pilot during both World War II and the Korean War.
survivors include his widow, Mrs. Laura Washington, Danville; a son, Robert Howell Washington, Jr., Miami; a daughter, Mrs. Janet Lamp, Miami; two brothers, Alan, Knoxville, and Joel Washington, Beltsville, Md.; four sisters, Mrs. G. S. Dismukes Jr., Murfreesboro, Mrs. W. G. Blackman, Nashville, Mrs. Robert Brown, Brentwood, and Katherine Washington, Houston and one grandchild.
