Son of George W and Johnnie Marie Sibley Henderson. Soon after high school, he joined the U.S. Army and served most of his time in Italy. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of the Lafayette Masonic Lodge #44. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Marie Hancock. He is survived by wife of 31 years, Nancy Elzey Henderson; daughter, Beverly (Miles) Swofford; sons, Joey (Patricia) Moore and Michael Mooney; grandchildren, Alexis Swofford, Brooke Swofford, Ava Mooney, Baylee Mooney, Corey Farmer, Kayla Moore and Destin Moore; and brothers, Robby and his wife, Sammie and Billy and his wife, Jenice Henderson, J R (Joyce) Henderson, and Terry (Patty) Henderson.
