Rev. Cecil Edward Williams of Cohutta departed this life on October 8, 2021 at the age of 78.
Cecil was born December 16, 1942 in Chattanooga, TN. He was a longtime avid student of the Bible. He gave much of his life to the ministry. He was Pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in Tunnel Hill for seventeen years and Pastor of Greasy Creek Baptist of Reliance TN for ten years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John "Dick" Williams and Myrtle Williams; loving wife of forty one years, Donna Ward Williams as well as three brothers, Jerry Williams, Marvin Williams and Richard Williams.
He is survived by his wife Christine Shields Williams of the residence, who worked tirelessly as his caregiver; three children, Curtis (Angie) Williams of Cohutta, Cheryl (Michael) Welch of Rocky Face and Chad Williams of Ringgold; six grandchildren, four great grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at the Calvary Baptist Church in Tunnel Hill with Rev. Joshua Williams officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, October 11, 2021 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. The family asks that visitors respect the Covid protocol by wearing masks and social distancing.
Burial will be in Gordy Memorial Gardens.
