He passed Sunday October 10, 2021 at the age of 79 after a courageous battle with cancer.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Claude Monta Walters, Sr. and Billye Ruth Walters.
Claude is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Patty Ann Walters, his eldest son Jon Claude Walters and daughter in law Shelly Walters of Elkins, and his younger son Patrick Walters, daughter in law Amber Walters, and his granddaughters Arabella and Arianah Walters of Columbia, SC.
Claude was born in Evansville, Indiana September 22, 1942.
His family moved to Camden, AR when Claude was very young. He graduated from Camden High School. He completed his higher education through the University of Arkansas, Southern State, and the Naval Officer Candidate school. Claude and Patty moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico in the 1970's. They then returned to Arkansas and lived in Fordyce and El Dorado. Finally settling in Fayetteville, AR in the mid 1980's. Claude proudly served our country as a Lieutenant in the US Navy during the Vietnam war. With each community he lived in, Claude had been an active member of the community and his church, serving in leadership positions on many committees and organizations. Claude was a retired insurance agent. Through his leadership and active participation in professional organizations, Claude contributed to the advancement of the insurance industry. He fondly remembered his time serving his clients helping to offer them peace of mind.
Service will be 12:30 pm Friday October 15, 2021 at the Fayetteville National Cemetery under the direction of Moore's Chapel in Fayetteville.
