Robert "Bobby" Edward Burke, age 80, of Byhalia, Mississippi passed away on Monday, October 11, 2021.
Bobby was born January 19, 1941 in Memphis, Tennessee to the late John H. & Gladys Burke.
Robert married Kathy Burke on November 21, 1969 and they had one son David Burke on August 11, 1970.
Mr. Burke graduated from Messick High School where he played basketball, baseball and was a member of the "12 Year Club". After high school Bobby graduated from Tulane University with a degree in Public Health. He worked for the Memphis & Shelby County Health Department for 25 years and then for UT Medical Group for several years.
He had to take care of Elvis' many things when he passed away through the health department.
Robert was a member of Covenant Baptist Church in Collierville, Tennessee where he was a deacon. He also was a member at Ridgeway Baptist Church for over 25 years.
Along with his parents, Bobby was also preceded in death by his older brother John Burke.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 56 years, Kathy; son David (Carla) Burke; granddaughter Anna Rey; two nieces Debbie Brown & Jackie Burke; and lifelong friends Jake Spidle, Jerry Campbell, Jerry Pierce & Dan McAdams.
A gathering for family and friends will be on Saturday, October 16 beginning at one o'clock in the afternoon until memorial services begin at two o'clock all at Covenant Baptist Church, 3170 S. Houston Levee Road, Collierville, TN 38017.
