Mr. Jerry Pruett, age 71, of the Big A Mountain section of Honaker, Virginia went to be with the Lord on Sunday (October 10, 2021) in a Johnson City, Tennessee hospital Born July 15, 1950 in Richlands, Virginia, he was a son of the late Chester B. Pruitt and Lucy Stuart Peck. He had spent his early life in Tazewell County, Virginia and most of his adult life in Russell County. He had been employed as a coal miner for Harold Keen Coal/Suncoke. Jerry was a devoted Christian and a member of Hubbard's Chapel. He dedicated his life to serving Jesus and he and his wife, Gerelene, along with some friends and family members formed the Harmony Quartet. They travelled many miles singing and sharing the message of the gospel through song.
Survivors include his loving wife of forty-six years, Ruth Gerelene Reynolds Pruett of the home; three children, Heather Gilbert and husband, Travis of Cleveland, Virginia, Jason Pruett and fiancée, Tina Holmes of Lebanon, Virginia and Faith Bailey and husband, Hyder of Bristol, Tennessee; three granddaughters, Alanas Gilbert, Santana Gilbert and Bellany Gilbert; special mom, Susan Peck; two brothers, Clarence Peck and Russell Pruitt; several nieces and nephews and three very special fur children, Snowball, Bitty and Midnight also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 PM Thursday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Lenora Vanover officiating. Interment will follow in the Myrtle Reynolds Cemetery at Clark's Valley, Virginia.
Pallbearers will be Richard Hess, Robbie Reynolds, Gerald Reynolds, Adam Reynolds, Shane Casey and Tim Casey.
The family will receive friends after 6 PM Wednesday at Honaker Funeral Home where an evening service will be conducted at 7 PM with Rev. Rondo Reynolds officiating.
