Mr. James Joseph "JJ" Fields, 43, of S. Fifth Street, Colbert, passed away on Saturday, October 9, 2021, at Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital.

JJ was born in Athens on December 7, 1977, son of Jimmy Eugene Fields and Mary Carol Coile Fields. He worked as an over the road truck driver as well as a cabinet maker. Mr. Fields was a member of Word of Life Congregational Holiness Church.

Survivors, in addition to his parents Jimmy and Mary Carol of Colbert, include his brother, Steve T. Fields of Easley, SC; aunt, Linda Barner of Jefferson; and his four-legged companion, Jams.

No services will be held, and burial will be in Colbert City Cemetery.
