Obituary for Carol Vines
Carol Cooper Vines of Hampton, Georgia was called home on October 7, 2021 after a long battle with cancer and heart disease. She died peacefully and suffers no more. She was born on September 2, 1936 in Fairburn, Georgia and grew up in Newnan, Georgia as the only child of Aubrey and Marie Cooper. Carol married the love of her life, William Donald Vines, on June 8, 1956. The two had a loving marriage for 54 happy years until Don's death in 2011. Carol missed him terribly each and every day for the past ten years, but they are finally reunited. Oh what a glorious reunion it must have been! Carol was a loving mother of two sons, William Dean Vines and Edgar Donald Vines. She was a devout Christian and member of Forest Park Christian Church and then McDonough Christian Church. She enjoyed traveling and spending time at the family's lake house. She also enjoyed working with the many friends she made at the Clayton County Water Authority where she was able to retire. Carol and her husband were blessed with two amazing grandchildren: Mitchell Thomas Vines and Madison Grace Vines, both bringing the couple so much joy. Carol was preceded in death by her husband, William Donald Vines and son, William Dean Vines. She is survived by her son, Edgar Donald Vines, and grandchildren, Mitchell Thomas Vines and Madison Grace Vines. There will be a graveside service which will be held on Saturday, October 16th at 1:00 p.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery in Newnan, Georgia. Minister Curt Zehner will officiate the service which will honor her well lived life as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, and friend.
