Roy Arthur Sims, 44, of Centralia, IL passed away on October 1, 2021 in Decatur Morgan Hospital, Alabama.
Roy was born on May 6, 1977 in Maryland to the late Gaines A. Sims and Julia A. Sims.
Roy is a lifelong resident of St. Mary's County.
Roy was a waterman for Inland Marine Service doing what he liked to do, working on boats and being out on the water. He loved to play video games and wrestling with his brothers and nephews. Family was everything to him, he enjoyed being a big brother and spending time with all of them.
Roy is survived by his siblings, Christina Sims (Garrett) of MD, Allen Sims of IL, Michael Sims (Sarah) of MD, Charles Barnes of OR, Harold Barnes Jr. (Kate) of Virginia, and Quincy Barnes of IL., as well as his many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Gaines Allen Sims, mother, Julia Sims and sister Angela Barnes.
Family will receive friends on Friday, November 5, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with a funeral service at 12:00 p.m., at Brinsfield Funeral Home, P.A., 22955 Hollywood Rd., Leonardtown, MD 20650. Internment will take place immediately following the funeral service at Charles Memorial Gardens.
