Michael Alonzo Pierce

Huntington Beach, California - Michael Alonzo Pierce, 78, of Huntington Beach, California, formerly of Walworth, New York and Crooksville, Ohio died on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 in Long Beach, California.

He was born February 16, 1943 in Crooksville, the son of the late Franklin and Julia M. (nee: Rambo) Pierce.

After graduating from Crooksville High School in the Class of 1961, Mike joined the US Air Force, serving our country and defending our freedom in the tumultuous Viet Nam War.

After leaving his military service, Mike sought his career as an engineer and program manager for Xerox Corporation.

He was an avid a gun collector and accomplished the title of Master Marksman, so enjoying the sport of shooting.

Mike also held his private pilot's license and loved flying his plane for pleasure.

Left behind to mourn his passing is his wife of five years, Gloria (nee: Holland) Pierce; his sons, Jeffery D. Pierce and Michael A. (Joellyn) Pierce, Jr.; his step-children, Lori (Richard) Emme and Link (Jennifer) Cornelius; his grandson, Zachary Smith, step-granddaughters, Siena and Soleil Cornelius and Jenna Emme; his great-grandchildren, Aidan and Damen Smith and his cousins, Jean Printz, Steve Stought and Brenda Heil.

In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children, Brenda Kaye (nee: McFarland) Pierce who died December 23, 2007; his brother, Jeff Pierce and his step-granddaughter, Sinatra Cornelius.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM, Saturday, October 23, 2021 at Church of The Atonement Catholic Church, 300 Winter St., Crooksville, Ohio with Father Todd Lehigh as celebrant.

Mike will then be laid to rest beside his wife, Brenda in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery near Crooksville with full military honors.
