PONTOTOC Randle B. Baggett, 70, died Wednesday, Nov. 5, 1997, at Pontotoc Health Services after a sudden illness. He was born June 29, 1927, in Pontotoc County. He was a retired road construction worker and a member of New Hope Baptist Church, where he was song leader. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He was a Mason in the Pontotoc Lodge and a caretaker at the New Hope Cemetery. He was a charter member of Pontotoc Ridge Quartet.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Baldwin Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Tommy Whaley and the Rev. Rickey Parker officiating. Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Sara Russell Baggett of Pontotoc; two sons, Johnny Baggett and his wife, Trenda, and Billy Baggett, all of Pontotoc; three grandchildren, Jessica Baggett, Jacob Baggett and Olivia Baggett; three sisters, Gladys Foster and Merle Chism, both of Baldwyn, and Nadene Taylor of West Memphis, Ark.; one brother, Herman Baggett of Nettleton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Henry Baggett and Annie Lou Devaughn,
and a brother, Leroy Baggett.
Pallbearers will be Doug Keith, Wayne Scruggs, Keith Herring, Billy Dorman and Joe Austin.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. today.
