Marie Mockley, 100, a Hillsboro resident, died June 6, 2007, at the Maryville Nursing Home in Beaverton. Private interment will be at Valley Memorial Park in Hillsboro.

Mrs. Mockley was born April 27, 1907, in Idaho, a daughter of John and Marija Jackson.

As a young girl, she moved with her family to Oregon. They settled in the Scoggins Valley community, where she received her education in a one-room school house.

She married Martin N. Mockley in Forest Grove, Ore. Following their marriage they lived in Hillsboro, where they owned and operated Sunnyhill Dairy. She was preceded in death by her husband, on January 3, 1974. They were married over 45 years.

Mrs. Mockley worked for several years as a nurse at the Jones Hospital in Hillsboro. She also co-managed the dairy farm with her husband.

She was a longtime member of St. Matthew Catholic Church in Hillsboro.

Among her interests, she enjoyed playing the piano, gardening and raising animals on their farm.

She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Roseann Marie Johnson in 1989.

Mrs. Mockley is survived by two daughters, Beverly Fiocchi, Milwaukie, Ore., and Barbara Willie, The Dalles, Ore.; a son and daughter-in-law, James and Sharon Mockley, Portland, Ore.; 20 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

The family suggests remembrances be made to the Maryville Nursing Home, 14645 SW Farmington Road, Beaverton, OR 97005, or to the Alzheimer's Association, Columbia-Willamette Chapter, 1311 SW 21st Ave., Portland, OR 97209.
