Phyllis was born November 1, 1937 in Buncombe County to the late Conley and Donnie Woody Ballard. She was a Godly woman who enjoyed helping others. Phyllis was a Sunday School teacher and loved her church family at Swannanoa Heights Baptist Church. She also loved her family dearly and will be missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings, Martha, Jim and Bob Ballard.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 66 years, JC Wright, children, Johnny Wright (Lucy), Nancy Miller (Mike), Susan Robinson (Bruce) and Beth Carter (Brian); brother, Ted Ballard (Beverly); grandchildren, Hannah (Paul), Holly, Madison (Kody), Drew, Megumi (Nathan), John, Samantha, Samuel, Emilie, Rebekah, Addie, and Jack; and great grandsons, Everett Sears, Wade, and Worth.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, October 12, 2021 from 10:30 to 11:00am at Swannanoa Heights Baptist Church. A celebration of life service will immediately follow with Rev. Johnny Wright and Rev. Bruce Robinson officiating. Burial will be in Mountain View Memorial Park.
