David Clay Underwood, 54, of Roanoke, passed away on Monday, October 5, 2020. He was born on December 26, 1965 in Virginia to the late Claude Albert Underwood, Sr. and the late Suzie Jane Shepperd Underwood. David was also preceded in death by two sisters, Amelia Cook and Bonnie Shepperd.

David is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Jennifer Lynn Underwood; daughters, Jessica Underwood and her fiancé, Gared Parker and Paris Atkinson and her son, Jostyn Atkinson; son, Daniel Underwood and his girlfriend, Angie Scott; granddaughter, Hailey Jane Parker; brothers, Gordon Lee Underwood and his wife, Mary, Claude Albert Underwood, Jr and his wife Kathy; brother-in-law, Martin Wheeler and his fiancée, Debbie Atkinson; special mother-in-law, Faye Wheeler, nephew, Jimmy Ruble; niece, Tasha Bowden; grand dog, Daisy Jane and other loving family members.

David loved his family and especially his granddaughter, Hailey. He loved being outdoors and feeding all the animals around his house.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 8, 2020 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Oakey's Vinton Chapel. A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 9, 2020 at 2:00 pm at Oakey's Vinton Chapel.
