Richard Thomas Becker was born in Hartford, Washington County, Wisconsin on 24 Jul 1935. He attended Marquette University and met his wife Catherine Boorman there.
The couple married on June 20, 1959, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Lemmon, S.D. They then lived and worked in Chicago for a brief time before returning to Judge Becker's hometown, Hartford, to raise their family.
Richard is survived by his children: Jerome (Dr. Karen Hegmann, children: Grace, Richard, Claire), Thomas (Anne, children: Mikaela, Andrew, Delaney), Gregory (Kristine, children: Josh, Alyssa, Sam, Isabella), Ann Becker, Joseph (Cheri, children: Matt, Abby, Mary, Jane) Becker, Kathleen Harris (Jason, children: Jack, Cody, Sydney, Wyatt) and Margaret Swyers (Heath, child expected in July and code named "Champ"). He is also survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert (Maureen) Becker, Teri (Richard) Merkel, Bonnie (Thomas) Callen, Carl Gahlman and Paul (Sarah) Becker. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Life gathering will be held on Tuesday, June 30, 2020 at the Schauer Arts Center (147 N Rural St. Hartford, WI 53027) from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m., with a brief program at 6:00 p.m.
