Muncie - Jeffrey S. Anderson, age 55, of Muncie, Indiana, passed away at his home on October 3, 2021 after a courageous battle with cancer. Jeff was born December 9, 1965 in Muncie, Indiana to the late Donald R. and Lola A. Anderson.
Jeff was a lifelong resident of Muncie and graduated from Muncie Southside High School in 1983. He earned a degree in Industrial Maintenance from Ivy Tech, Muncie, Indiana.
Jeff was a state-licensed water treatment operator and head maintenance manager at Indiana American Water Company in Muncie. He previously worked 24 years in the maintenance department at Duffy Tool and Stamping. Jeff was an active member of the United Steel Workers Union and served as union representative at Indiana American Water Company.
Jeff will be remembered as a loving husband, father, son, and brother, but above all, he would want to be remembered as Papa. He was our "go to" person, always there ready to help and support his family, never expecting anything in return. Jeff was a skilled self-taught marksman, guitar player, and woodworker. He could fix anything and was an avid DIYer. Jeff's home was the gathering place, and he loved spending time there with family and friends. Jeff enjoyed being outdoors watching the wildlife on his farm. He also loved music, playing his guitar, and working in his garage.
Jeff was married to his wife, Rachel (Barnes) Anderson, for more than 15 years, and between them, they raised six children. Jeff was previously married to Victoria (Mills) Anderson until her death in 2001.
Jeff is survived by his wife, Rachel Anderson, of Muncie Indiana; two sons, Justin Anderson (Lauren) of South Carolina and Cody Anderson (Amber) of Michigan; four step children, Brandon Nelson (Amanda) of Minnesota, Jessica Moffitt of Pennsylvania, Jordan Moffitt of Muncie, Indiana, and Brandi Chitwood (Noah) of Tennessee; grandchildren, Annika, Noah, AJ, Jayden, Brandon Jr, Kieran, and Caroline; brother, Ronnie Anderson of Muncie, Indiana; sister, Donna Cross (Ed) of Michigan; nieces, Regan Hawkins (Ian) and Avery and Quinn Hawkins, Mindy Commiskey (Ryan), and Kristy Anderson; nephews, Zachary Anderson and Christopher Anderson; and special cousin, Mike Anderson.
Jeff was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, John Lewis Anderson; and nephew, Aaron Cross.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at 1:00 PM in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, 10703 North State Road 3, Muncie.
