Peggy Lee Miller Almond (82) was born in Lynchburg, Virginia to Harold Rosser and Mamie Stinnette Miller. She graduated from E.C. Glass High School, Lynchburg, Virginia in 1957. She attended Lynchburg College (Virginia) 1957 - 1960.

During High School, she was active in student activities and was a member of the girl's tennis team. At Lynchburg College she earned varsity letters in field hockey and tennis.

She is a lifelong member of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). Her activities at Euclid Christian Church, Lynchburg, VA include youth groups and choir. She has continued to be active in the Christian Church where she has lived. She served on many committees as a member and served as the Co-chair of the worship committee at the First Christian Church, Wilson, North Carolina and a member of the Chancel Choir.

She is survived by her husband of 62 plus years, H. Dale Almond, her daughter, Kellye Leigh Yourick (David) of Shelby, NC. Her sons, Harold Dale (Skip) Almond (Mitzi) of Lexington, South Carolina and Michael Bradley Almond of Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Grandchildren Jordan Dale Barnhardt (Parks), Anna-Drake Davis (Daniel), Cameron Turner Almond (Logan), Preston Bradley Almond (Katelyn), Lee Rebecca Almond and Miller Joshua Almond (Rachel). Great Granddaughters Emma Leigh Davis and Lily Dean Davis.

She has devoted her life as a wife, mother and grandmother. She was very supportive of the work and activities of her husband, her children, and her grandchildren to whom she is known as "Dannee". Her greatest joy was watching her children grow and become successful in their endeavors. She was extremely proud of each of her grandchildren for the lives they have made for themselves. A real joy is her great granddaughters.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her special aunt, Loraine Bledsoe. Survivors also include several cousins and other family members.
