SFC Kevin Lamond Snuffer, 44, of Bailey Hollow Road, Princeton died late Thursday night, December 6, 2007 at his residence.

Born August 2, 1963, in Cleveland, Ohio, he is the son of Earl and Martha "Iva" Whitten Snuffer of Lester.

Kevin was a graduate of Liberty High School, Class of 1981. He then entered the service to serve with the U.S. Army, after his active duty, Kevin has continued his service to his country by serving in the Army Reserve. He has received many decorations, medals, badges and citations.

Until his illness, Kevin stated with the U.S. Postal Service in 1995 as a mail carrier in Princeton and also was serving as Vice President of Union Local No. 2420. He had attended the Princeton Church of God and with his parents at the Bolt Church of God. Kevin will be remembered as a loving and caring son, a devoted father and brother. He enjoyed helping people and for his handy work he shared with family, neighbor and friends. Kevin was known for making people laugh and for living life to the fullness.

Kevin was preceded in death by a brother, Tony Snuffer; a niece, Olivia Snuffer; and his maternal and paternal grandparents; Dempsey & Lakie Snuffer, and Roma & Lola Whitten.

Those left to cherish his memory, two children, Aaron Snuffer & wife Karen of Lester, Justin Snuffer & his girlfriend, Amanda both of Princeton; father & mother, Earl & Martha "Iva" Snuffer of Lester; four brothers, Roma Snuffer & wife Lisa of Copley, Ohio, Terry Snuffer & wife Karen of Bristow, Va., Jeff Snuffer & wife Abby of Burlington, N.C., Dane Snuffer & wife Crystal of Beckley.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 10, 2007 from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor Randall Pugh officiating. Graveside military service will be held 4:00 p.m. in the Goldsbury Cemetery, Mud River Road near Hamlin.

Friends may visit with the family Sunday from 5 until 7 p.m. at the funeral.

The family would request that memorial gifts of love be made to the Community Hospice of America, 1033 Stafford Drive, Princeton WV 24740.
