STEVE HARDIE ANDERSON ~ (19 September 1954~8 October 2021)

He is the son of the late Dewey Hardie Anderson and the late Cleo Rickman Anderson.

He died Friday, October 8, 2021.

He graduated from Halifax County High School and furthered his education at Elon University where he was a member of the TKE fraternity. He served on Halifax County School Board for eight years; serving for a time as board chairman; and the Halifax County Education Foundation. He was a service to his community through Hunting Creek Baptist Church where he was a deacon; the Dan River Baptist Association, where he was a past treasurer; the South Boston Rotary Club, where he chaired the scholarship committee; Mt. Laurel Ruritan Club; Masonic Lodge Kerns 143; and Halifax County Serenity Gardens. After his retirement, he worked at Brooks~Lyon Funeral Home serving the community by assisting families who had experienced loss. Other than his family, his greatest passion was University of Virginia sports.

He was a family man, always talking about his family. Survivors, his wife; two daughters; and three grand-children.

Services are private.
