Son of John Cary. He was a man of prominence, was town clerk, and succeded his father as Deacon of the church; m- Susanna (George) Kent of Swansea ( b. Sept 25, 1687 - d. Aug 10, 1764) he d. Jan 20, 1734, and the widow was bereft of husband and six children within 2 years. His estate was inventoried at 8,800 pounds. Mrs. Cary, in her will, proven Dec. 4, 1764, gave to her 2 surviving sons, Benjamin and Nathaniel, all her real estate, and to her granddaughter, Susanna, 100 pounds, to her dau. Elizabeth Clark, "all of her silverplate and indoor moveables, also her servant girl Caty."
