On Wednesday, April 8, 2020, William Connoway Cline, loving husband, father of 3 children, and Papa to 11 grandchildren, passed away peacefully in his home in Birmingham, Michigan at the age of 84. Bill was born on October 10, 1935 at Harper Grace Hospital in Detroit, Michigan to Myron and Lillian(Conway). He attended Western Michigan University and excelled in sales throughout his career. On May 19, he married the love of his life, Catherine (Kay) Lyons. Kay and Bill were married for 57 years, raising 3 children, Matt, Patty and Jeff. Bill had a passion for life. His happiest moments were spent with his family at Point Nipigon. On every Fourth of July you would see Bill and his family celebrating together on The Straits of Mackinac with an old fashioned parade, group games, a barbecue, a bonfire and fireworks. He also enjoyed being a member of the Mackinac Island Yacht Club for many years. Bill loved to grill and eat outdoors under the beautiful Nipigon sky with his family. He had a zest for life and was quick with a kind word and a smile. Bill and Kay's house was always open to all and they welcomed friends, and friends of friends, with open arms.
Bill made it his mission to visit his sick friends; to pick them up in their time of need. His care for others was an ongoing theme throughout his life.
Bill faced his illness and his death with strong Faith, Courage, Dignity, Grace and Good Humor. He was a shining example to us all.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Lillian and Myron and His Daughter-in-law, Sara (Drake). He is survived by his loving wife, Kay, his son Matt, and daughter-in-law Maureen (Jennings) with grandchildren, Matthew, Caroline, Christopher, and Catherine. His daughter and son-in-law Jerry (Dentinger) with grandchildren Kevin, Jack and Kate, and his son, Jeff, and daughter-in-law Laura (Williams) with grandchildren, Kelly, Jane, Rachel, and Katie; his sister Beverly (Decker), and several beloved nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at a date TBD at Point Nipigon Resort Club, Mackinaw, Michigan.
