Graveside service for Viola May Brown, 87, Altus, was at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, October 31, 2007 at Roosevelt Cemetery with Rev. Jimmy Prickett officiating. Burial was under the direction of Ray & Martha's Funeral Home, Hobart.

Mrs. Brown passed away on Sunday, October 28, 2007, in Altus. She was born May 31, 1920, in Roosevelt, to John and Oma Blanche (Smith) Brooks. She grew up in Cooperton and graduated from high school. Viola married Andrew Brown on December 8, 1940 in Roosevelt. She lived in the Cooperton and Roosevelt areas most of her life and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Roosevelt. She has been living in Altus for the past two years.

Survivors include her husband, Andrew, of the home in Altus; one son: Jerry Brown, Elk City; two daughters: Judith Conrad and husband Redd, Roosevelt, Patty Harris and husband Kenneth, Oklahoma City; four grandchildren and three step-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Eva Brooks, Antlers.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Francis May Brown, a grandson, Granger Lanig and a brother, Cecil Brooks and daughter-in-law, Loretta Brown.
