Chris loved to watch ballgames, especially the Atlanta Braves. He was a great mechanic and car painter. His favorite car was his 1979 Chevrolet Malibu.
Left to cherish his memories is his loving mother, Edith Lowery Hyatt and husband, Jason, of Burnsville; children: Crystal of Burnsville, Kimberly of Hickory, Brooke of Hickory, Jacob of Bakersville, Jonathan of Bakersville and Tyler of Icard; grandson, Andrew Shane; brothers: Steve Cooper of Burnsville, Terry Cooper of Burnsville and Ronald Burleson of Burnsville, and sister, Lesa K. Autrey of Burnsville. A special cousin, Rose Briggs of Spruce Pine, and several other extended family members also survive.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 - 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, October 10th in the chapel of Yancey Funeral Service. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. following the visitation in the chapel of Yancey Funeral Service with the Rev. Max Gortney officiating. The family requests memorial donations be made to the funeral home to help with expenses.
