William Almond of Morgan street died Sunday at the age of 63 years. He had been a sufferer from asthma for years and an attack of bronchitis about two weeks ago aggravated the old disease and he failed to rally from the affliction.
Mr. Almond was born in England in 1833 and at the age of 21 years came to America, coming directly to Rockford. He was employed as a watchman at the Graham match factory.
He is survived by his wife, who has been ill for some time, and by four children, John Frederick and William Almond and Mrs. William Clark, all of this city. Another son, Lieutenant Charles Almond of Co. H, was the first Rockford boy to fall in the Spanish-American war.
