Funeral services for Ruby Gray, age 86, of Birthright, are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Monday, September 17, 2007, at West Oaks Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will follow services in the Tira Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6:00 t0 8:00 p.m., Sunday, September 16, 2007, at the funeral home.
Mrs. Gray passed away on Friday, September 14, 2007, at Paris Regional Hospital in Paris, TX. She was born on March 16, 1921, in the Bonanza Community of Rains County, the daughter of Clark and Alma Lawson. She married Eddie Gray, on March 9, 1991. He survives.
Mrs. Gray was known for her love of dancing, gardening, and playing cards. She enjoyed spending time with her family, most of all. She was a member of the Baptist faith.
Other survivors include: sons, Mick Petty and wife Linda and Rick Petty and wife Judy, of Tira; two sisters, Dorothy Coker, of Longview, and Betty Lawson, of Tira; two brothers, Bobby Lawson of Sulphur Springs, and Paul Lawson of Dallas; grandchildren, Chris and Robin of Cedar Park, Amy and Ronnie Green of Cooper, Tara Petty of Rowlett, and James Humphrey of Sulphur Springs; two stepsons, Dale Gray of Austin, and Eddie Gray, Jr. of Tyler; and numerous great-grandchildren, and step-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Zonner Petty, and Merele Smiddy; and two brothers, Lowell Lawson and Floyd Lawson, Sr.
