George Bonham Turner, 78, of Warren, Indiana passed away Friday October 8, 2021 at the Parkview Hospital in Huntington, Indiana.

George was born June 3, 1943, in Huntington, Indiana to Eugene and Bertha Turner. His early years revolved around his immediate family and many nearby relatives, his church, his school, and the closely knit community of Warren. These were important influences that served him in the rest of his life.

George was a 1961 graduate of Warren High School as class president. He then earned his bachelor's degree in business from Indiana University. As a member of Phi Kappa Psi fraternity, he participated in several campus organizations. After college he joined the Air Force for 4 years and achieved the rank of Captain. His primary role in the military was leading a combat crew in the silos of Titan missiles.

After his Air Force tour, he earned an advanced degree at the Thunderbird School of Global Management. That led to his business career as a Surety Bondsman for more than 30 years in California and Hawaii. An avid golfer, he appreciated the climate that permitted him to play year-round. He also took up sailing during his many years living in Hawaii. He was active in Rotary International, Kiwanis, and other service groups.

He returned to Indiana in 2011 as a resident of Heritage Pointe in Warren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by a sister, Jean Ann Finley, of Greensboro, North Carolina.

Per George's wishes there will be no funeral service.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Glancy-H. Brown & Son Funeral Home in Warren.
