Lillian Ann Kocian Manning was born in Komensky, Texas on March 22, 1940 to Henry and Bessie (Fajkus) Kocian of Moulton. Lillian was baptized at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Moulton. She grew up in Moulton along with her parents and 8 siblings. After graduating from Moulton High School, she married her high school sweetheart, James, on July 19, 1959. Lillian was a wife and home maker. She was blessed with three children: Elizabeth, Tina and Dale.

Lillian's life was "surrounding herself with family and friends, especially her grandchildren." She enjoyed gardening, and was a member of the Schulenburg Garden Club. Other hobbies included: arts and crafts, writing poetry, and baking. The family enjoyed many gingerbread houses at Christmas time. She crafted many costumes for her children and grandchildren especially at Halloween. She also enjoyed traveling around Texas, camping and attending family events.

Lillian was reunited in heaven with her beloved husband on Thursday, Oct. 7, 2021. She last resided at Colonial Care Nursing Home. She made many friends and memories in Schulenburg especially at the nursing home.

Lillian is survived by two daughters and one son and their families: Elizabeth Mica with husband Scott of Flatonia, Tina Barton with husband Mack of Bryan, and Dale Manning with wife Cindy of Schulenburg; two sisters and three brothers and their families: Vera Kocian of Smithville, Dennis Kocian and wife Joyce of Hallettsville, Harvey Kocian and wife Mary Rebecca of Victoria, Allan Kocian and wife Janice of Flatonia, and Anita Wicke of Harwood; six grandchildren: Tyler Mica, Nathan Newman, Nicholas Newman, Courtney Mica, Dalton Manning and Sebastian Sykes; and one greatgrandchild: Ned Newman. The family also recognizes special friend, Cynthia Meyer of Schulenburg.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Manning; her parents; two sisters, Mary Michalak of Houston and Alice Kallus of Hallettsville; one brother, James Henry Kocian of Hallettsville; one brother-in-law, Paul Michalak; two nephews, Craig Wayne Kocian and Brian Kallus; and greatnephew, Daniel Rainosek.

The family would like to acknowledge all the care providers especially those at Colonial Care Nursing Home.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Oct. 12 at 11 a.m. at the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Schulenburg, with Fr. Isaac Maunger officiating. Rosary was recited at the church at 10:30 a.m., prior to the Mass. Interment took place in the Moulton Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers were David Martinez, Nathan Newman, Nick Newman, Dalton Manning, Chad Zimmermann, Andy Behlen and Allen Kocian. Named as honorary pallbearers were Dennis Kocian, Harvey Kocian, Sebastian Sykes, Mike Olle, Jeff Gabler, Melissa Siems and Mack Barton.
