Lloyd Leon (Buddy) Fowler, Jr. passed away peacefully on October 6, 2021, of a broken heart at the age of 90.

He leaves behind 7 children: Jeff (Kathrin) Fowler, Mary (Butch) Schell, Jody (Dennis) Barrios, Robin (Gary) Turk, Rebecca Mabry, Jim Fowler (Tina), and Loyd Ryan Fowler as well as 14 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandson, his sister Shirley Fowler Hackel of Winter Haven, FL, brother Paul (Norma) Fowler of Foley, AL, and sister-in-law Audrey Merchant of Bakersfield, CA. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Buddy is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 71 years Bonnie Cutrer Fowler, one daughter, Diana Fowler Hebert, parents Lloyd Leon and Josephine Fowler, sister Mary Fowler Mitchell and brother BL Fowler.

Buddy worked hard his whole life. At a young age, he worked in his dad's logging business.

After he married and started his family, he would tackle any job and often worked two jobs to support his growing family. He was mechanically inclined but was a jack of all trades. Buddy worked as a mechanic throughout his life on cars, trucks, 18 wheelers, tug boats and even cranes and he continued to work on cars and trucks well into his eighties.
He loved cooking for family and friends or large groups, singing karaoke, fishing, gardening and shooting pool. He had a small catering service in Tucson, AZ, during the 1990's where he would cook good ol' Louisiana Cajun food for the Westerners.

Buddy truly enjoyed life. He was genuinely a people person who loved doing for others.

In his later years, Buddy and Bonnie resided at Wynhoven II Apartments in Marrero where they were loved by many. Buddy always enjoyed being social and, to his delight, was voted Wynhoven's Mardi Gras King in 2019.

Buddy doted on Bonnie who was the love of his life. He prayed, asking God to let him live longer than her so he could take care of her. His prayer was answered as he lived only 12 days without her. He loved and appreciated his children and their families, often telling people how proud he was to have such a large and loving family.
