Gwendolyn Ann Whittie-Jones, of Rockford departed this earthly life May 6, 2021. She was born January 8, 1964 in Rockford, IL the daughter of Jimmy Sellers and Mattie Bell. Gwendolyn was married to James Jones, June 27, 1998, he preceded her in death. She was employed over 26 years by Chrysler Corporation before retiring. Gwendolyn was a member of New Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church, serving as an Usher and on the Mission Board. She graduated from Auburn High School and Rock Valley College.

Gwendolyn leaves to cherish many loving memories, five sons, Chris Whittie, Marlow Whittie, William (Nortessa) Davis, Michael and Joseph Whittie; daughter Danielle Whittie; 14 grandchildren; one great grand daughter; brothers, Terry (Christine) Deval and Charles (Lisa) Whittie; sister, Carolyn Whittie; a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, and grandson,.

Services will be held 12:00 noon Saturday, May 15, 2021 at Soar Assembly 604 Salter Ave. Burial in Willwood Burial Park. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Arrangements completed by Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home Inc. 200 N. Johnston Ave.
