Edna V. Rogers age 87 of Silver Bay, MN died April 21, 2021 at home.
She was born May 9, 1933 to Carl and Ina (Niemela) Lahti in Kettle River. She attended schools in Kettle River and Kalevala, and received a GED later on. She also attended Duluth Votech College for Horticulture. She worked at Diamond Match in Cloquet where she met her husband, Richard Rogers. They were married March 15, 1952 in Cloquet. They moved to Camas, WA for a short while, then moved to Esko in 1953. In 1957 they moved to Silver Bay where Dick was employed by Reserve Mining. She loved books and was a voracious reader. She also loved photography and taking photos of her grandchildren, woodburning and gardening. She was a former member of the North Shore Camera Club, Bay Area Artists and Lake County Historical Society.
Edna was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Annette and brother-in-law Theodore Helgeson, grandson Ben Rogers, several uncles, aunts and cousins, and special sister Gladys.
She is survived by her husband Richard, four sons; two daughters; twelve grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren.
Memorial Service will be held May 1, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Duluth Bible Church, 201 W. Saint Andrews St. Duluth, MN. 55803
