Doyle Brown Wilmoth, age 82 of Cookeville passed away Friday October 8, 2021 at Alive Hospice in Nashville. He was born December 21, 1938 in Jackson County, Tennessee to the late Calvin Wilmoth and Ola Bell Brown Wilmoth.

Doyle spent his life in Cookeville. He was a veteran having served in the United States Army. He worked for Acme Boot Company beginning in the 1960's and retired in 2002. As a faithful servant of God, Doyle served as minister at Phifer Mountain, Hurricane, and Shiloh Churches of Christ for a combined total of 46 years.

Doyle enjoyed the outdoors. On a day off, you would find him fishing, hunting, gardening or "tinkering" with something outside. He enjoyed his family and a good meal.

He is survived by his daughter: Denise (Chris) Burton; son: Brian (Sherry) Wilmoth all of Cookeville; granddaughters: Alex (Blake) Taylor, Caitlin Burton, and Savannah Wilmoth; a host of nieces, nephews and many good friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Margaret Louise Wilmoth and brother: Earl Wilmoth.

Funeral services were held Monday, October 11, 2021 at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home with Bro James Bybee and Bro. Randy Bybee officiating. Interment followed at Algood City Cemetery.
