Tommy "Sherrill" Price, 77, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, October 7, 2021.
He was born October 5, 1944 in Union County, son of the late Braxton and Alice Hill Price.
He was preceded in death by his
daughter, Amy Nicole Price 1971-2014
and brothers, David, Rondal and Danny
Sherrill was a veteran of the NC National Guard, serving 12 years. He was a man of many skills and talents, a self-employed carpenter for many years, poultry farmer for 30 years and a truck driver for Fabricated Products and ConMet.
Sherrill loved his family, his home church, Love Baptist, as well as his church in Lansing, Long Branch Baptist. Some of his happiest moments were spent at his mountain home listening to gospel music and cooking his famous BBQ chicken for family and friends.
Funeral services will be Monday, October 11, 2021 at 3:00 PM in Love Baptist Church, followed by burial in the Lucy Helms Cemetery. The family will visit with friends and relatives from 2:00-2:45 PM prior to the service.
Sherrill is survived by his wife, LouNell Haigler Price; daughter, Shelly Price; grandchildren, Holly (Mitchell) Massey, Haley (Josh) Johnson, Terrin (Ryan) Moore, Nathan Richmond; brothers, Bobby (Layne) and Terry (Judy) Price; sister, Lucy Benton; eight great-grandchildren and numerous well-loved brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Love Baptist Church 707 Deese Road, Monroe, NC 28110.
