William A. "Bud" Gauby Jr. William A. Gauby Jr. 73 of Palm Harbor FL. passed away on Monday October 4th 2021 with his wife by his side. He was the Husband of Barbara J. (Hoff) Gauby, with whom he celebrated 52 years of marriage. Born in West Reading Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late William A. Gauby Sr. and Dolores M. (Mulholland) Gauby. He attended Schuylkill Valley High School and entered into a Chefs Apprentice then working as an Executive Chef after serving in the US Army. In 1975 he graduated from the Reading Police Academy and was employed as a Police Officer for 13 years specializing in Criminal Investigations Service for the City of Reading. He was presented the Bureau Medal of Valor for his heroic actions during the 1985 YMCA fire in Reading, PA. Along with his wife, he was also the owner of Gauby Catering, The Inn at Fairview and The Fairview Hotel Tap Room, Leesport, PA. He was a Licensed Community Association Manager, Certified Club Manager and Certified Manager of Community Associations holding positions in Maryland, South Carolina and Florida. He enjoyed Golfing, NASCAR, rescuing elderly dogs with his wife through the Lost Angels Animal Rescue and cooking family meals for all occasions. In addition to his wife Barbara, William is survived by two sons; two granddaughters; two great grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters and two brothers as well as several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in memory to Tunnel to Towers Foundation (T2T.org), Battle of the Badges Scholarship Fund – Berks County Community Foundation (bccf.org/scholarships/battle-of-the-badges-scholarship-fund/) or a local Animal Rescue League of your choice. Burial will take place at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Lebanon County, PA.
