Gary Asburn Pope, 82, of Clarkton went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 7, 2021, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. He leaves behind his loving wife, Mary Pope of the home, son Michael Pope (Beth) of Clarkton, daughter Lila Gail Warren (Chris) of Sunset Beach and two grandchildren, Kara Adams (Eddie) and Joshua Warren. Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Kirby Smith Pope and Marie Bell Squires Pope and brother Kenneth Pope.

The family will hold a private burial service.
