Charles (Charlie) Francis Watson Jr., age 91, passed away on Thursday, September 2, 2021 in San Antonio, Texas. Charles was born on November 3, 1929 in Greenville, South Carolina to parents Charles Francis Watson Sr. and Isobel Perry Watson.

Charlie grew up in San Antonio where his father worked with his uncle, J. M. Watson, owner of the Guarantee Shoe Company located near Alamo Plaza. He graduated from Alamo Heights High School and initially attended St. Mary's University before graduating from Texas Tech University. He joined the U. S. Air Force in 1950 where he served as a pilot for over 27 years. Charlie flew the C-47 Skytrain in the Korea war. During the Vietnam conflict he flew C-9 Nightingale hospital aircraft transporting wounded military personnel to hospitals all over the United States. He later served in Thailand during the Vietnam conflict. He was a member of the Order of Daedalians. After retiring from the Air Force, Charlie returned to San Antonio. He began a second career as a Financial Advisor with EF Hutton, Smith Barney, and Investment Professionals, Inc. where he served as Senior Vice President. He retired a second time at the age of 82.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Frances Watson Alexander, his first wife Joyce P. Watson, his second wife Margaret Jackson White, and his stepchildren Michael White and Deborah Furlow.

Charles is survived by his wife, sons, stepdaughter, grandsons, other relatives and many friends.
