Obituary for James Leslie Sweeney

James L. "Jim" Sweeney, 76, of Simpsonville, SC, went to be with the Lord Saturday September 25, 2021. He was born in Charleston, WV to the late Wilma Ashley and James Madison Sweeney, Jr.

Jim is survived by his wife of 13 years, Diane Morrow; stepson Austin Morrow (Tiffany Evans); grandchildren, Chandler and Jaxon; sisters: Brenda Hoffman (Dave), Lisa, Martha, and June; brother, Burl Sweeney; canine fur babies, Rosey and Molly; feline fur babies, Boots and Lucky; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his former wife, Peggy Sweeney; and son, Erik Sweeney.

A longtime member of USMVMC, Jim enjoyed riding his Harley. He also enjoyed woodworking. Jim's smile could light up a room. He was deeply loved and will be dearly missed.

A Celebration of his Life will be held from 1:00 - 3:00 PM Saturday, October 23, 2021 at Palmetto Mortuary, 1017 Mauldin Rd., Greenville, SC 29607. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the USMVMC Greenville.
