He went to grade school at the Green School House and graduated high school in Absarokee. He joined the army in 1945, and after the loss of his brother Gene, he returned home to the ranch at Fishtail and bought a piece next to the home place. In 1957, he married the most beautiful girl in Stillwater county, Mary Nichol. A family was started the following year with a son, Billy; followed by another son, Chris; and a daughter, Kim.
While raising his family, he also raised some of the finest registered Black Angus cattle in the country. Art enjoyed life to the fullest, fishing, playing pool, roasting pigs, it was all good fun. If you needed good advice he was always there to help you out, and is sorely missed already!
