If you are researching this family, I would love to hear from you.
My ancestor, Charity G. Stults, (born c1803) daughter of Henry Jacob Stults, married James McGowan. James McGowan and Charity lived in Knox County, Ohio 1820; in 1827 in Sandusky County, Ohio. Later Charity and James moved to Marshall County, Indiana with their children and other families, many returning years later to Ohio.
Ther parents of Henry Jacob Stults were Jacob Stults (c1731-c1810) and Anne Miller Stults (c1750-c1820).
I was told, and not seen with my own eyes - Henry is buried in the Nitschke (Shawl) Cemetery near Fremont in Sandusky County, Ohio. He died at age 73 yr and 6 mos per tombstone. In fact, I am told recently by several researchers that the cemetery was not in good shape and what markers remain, were turned over. This is private property and in Jackson Township, Sandusky County, Ohio.
He served in the War of 1812 in Capt. Robert Reid's Compnay of Ohio, 1st Regt. from July 28, 1813 to Sept. 6 1813. Margaret, his wife, is likely buried in Ottawa County, Ohio. Henry died 1846 and Margaret died after 1850.
Henry and Margaret bought land in Franklin Township, Bergen County, New Jersey in 1806. The land sold same land in 1811. Henry and Margaret bought land in Perry County, Ohio, dates unknown. Henry and Margaret bought land in Sandusky County, Ohio in 1828, sold same land in 1836. They bought land in Ottawa County, Ohio in 1837 where they lived until their deaths.
Buried next to brother Peter in a little cemetery back from a traveled road approximately one-half mile in the woods. It is about 4 1/2 miles west and a little south of Fremont, Ohio--called the (then) Nitschke farm located at County Road #1 near S.R. #12.

NOTE: Photos and photocopies appearing here, were sent to me by a gracious Steve Shaffer of Michigan, for use at this site of our ancestor Henry Stults, Henry's brother, Peter, and their other family members.
"The SHAWL CEMETERY (on private land) is located in Sandusky County, Jackson Township approximately 8 km. west of Fremont, Ohio at 41? 19' 57" N latitude, 083? 12' 44" W longitude. It is situated on a slight rise to the south of a stream and is almost centered in a section of land bordered on the north by US highway 6 and on the west by State Route 590. It is virtually impossible to see from any nearby road. Access is north from the first east/west road south of US6 via a lane along the farm field about 1/2 mile east of State Route 590".

NOTE: Someone sent me this after I posted a query on Genforum about the cemetery. " Shawl Cemetery is further SW in Jackson Twp. It's south of US 6 and east of SR 590. If it is on private land, it probably does not have an "entrance". It looks like the Adams Acres subdivision is just east of the cemetery but I don't know if it can be accessed from there".
From the internet, it says: The closest populated place is that of Gabels Corner that is 1.12 miles from Shawl Cemetery."
