Dora's Obituary
Dora Olena Ward, age 85, of Perryton, Texas passed away on Thursday October 7, 2021 in Perryton, Texas. A memorial service and burial will be scheduled for a later date in Ochiltree Cemetery. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Perryton.

Dora was born on November 23, 1935 in Afton, Texas to James Leslie Peak and Emma Rebecca Mooneyham Peak. She married Wayne Peasy Ward in Matador, Texas on December 12, 1953. Dora and Wayne worked as custodians at Perryton High School, and they were members of First United Methodist Church in Perryton, Texas. Dora's niece, Jeannie, came to live with Dora and Wayne in 1972, and later she was adopted by them at age 30. Wayne passed away on January 2, 1990.

Dora is survived by one daughter, Jeannie Hastey of Elkhart, Kansas; two granddaughters, Jennifer Campbell and husband, Bobbie, of Perry, Oklahoma, and Melissa Burrows and husband Ricky, Sr., of Hugoton, Kansas; great-grandchildren Madison Rivera and husband Charlie, Mason Pollet and wife Molly, Rickey Burrows, Jr., Alexis Hastey, Virginia Burrows, Charlee Pennington, Owen Campbell and Lillie Campbell; one great-great-granddaughter Evie Rivera; one sister, Marion Jo Peak; and one brother, James Leslie Peak, Jr. and wife Clarine; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Dora was preceded in death by her parents; one granddaughter, Dana Pollet; and one sister, Velma Dudley.

The family requests memorials be to one's favorite charity.
