Jerry Lee Hardin Cook age 83, passed away October 5, 2021 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
He was born November 2, 1937 in Chester County, the son of the late Henry Hardin and Luna Ellen Seaton Cook. He attended Chester County Schools. In 1957 he married Wanda Beacham. They made their home in Detroit and worked in home construction and repair. They moved to Henderson in 1960, where he worked for Bob Taylor. They moved to Memphis where Jerry painted and worked for Faxon, Inc. where he worked all over Shelby County and north Mississippi , during his career he built thousands of homes.
They returned to Henderson in 1985 and he operated Cook's Home Care Service.
He enjoyed raising cattle on their farm in the Cave Springs Community.
Mr. Cook is survived by his wife, Wanda Louise Beacham Cook of Henderson; three sons, Lynn Cook and wife Liz of Henderson, Gary Lee Cook of Henderson and Allen Cook and wife Susan of Somerville and two daughters, Sandra Wells and husband Ray of Jackson and Rebecca Monks and husband Charles of Jackson; eight grandchildren, Jeremy Cook, Jessica Fuqua (Wayne), Erin Fontana (Rick), Danielle Atkin (Cody), Heather Willis (Alan), Mason Wells, Patience Cook and Henry Monks and fourteen great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, William Cook and Henry Belvin Cook and a sister, Tiney Emerson.
Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Saturday at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue with Charlie Crouthers and Jim Greenslade officiating. Burial will follow in Clarks Creek Cemetery.
