Mr. Jimmie Van Jones, 75 of Mt. Vernon, passed from this life on Sunday, October 3, 2021 in Frankfort. He was born in Rockcastle County, KY on December 17, 1945 the son of Hewitt and Mary Ida Hunt Jones. He was a retired employee of Meade Paper Company and was a member of Crossroads Church of God in Brodhead.
He is survived by his children: Danny and Becky Jones of Frankfort, and Jennifer and Brian Terry of Mason, OH; a brother, Ronnie and Judy Jones of Mt. Vernon; and two sisters: Brenda Hayes of Mt. Vernon, and Teresa and Joe Harper of Cincinnati, OH. Thirteen grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren also survive. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine "Gerri" Jones; a brother, Mike; and a sister, Barbara.
Funeral services for Mr. Jones will be conducted Wednesday, October 6 at 1:00 PM at the Dowell & Martin Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memorial Cemetery.
