Obituary For Gwendolyn Stewart Moore
Gwendolyn Amelia Stewart Moore blessed this earth with her spirited personality on October 19, 1962, the seventeenth child in the union of Bascom and Ola Mae Stewart. She received early Christian education while attending Asbury AME Chapel in Pascagoula, MS. Gwendolyn later continued her Christian journey when she joined Christian Love Fellowship, under the ministry of Rev. Arthur Graham.

Gwendolyn, affectionately called "Gwen," received her formative education in the Moss Point Public School District, graduating from Moss Point High School in the Class of 1980. As long as we can recall, Gwen had a love for style and fashion, which led her to venture out to California and to pursue her dream of fashion modeling. While in Los Angeles, she attended the Fashion Institute and worked retail part-time for a brief stay. Consequently, love called and she moved to Atlantic City where she married her first husband, Jerome Sherrod. To that union, her first child was born.

Later, the couple moved back to the Gulf Coast to be close to family. Although matrimony ended for Gwen and Jerome, they remained friends until her death. Gwen later married Wille Moore and to that union, her second child was born. During this time Gwen was a wife, mother and possibly held her most rewarding position as Program Director for the Jackson County Boys and Girls Club of America, Gautier Unit. Afterward, Gwen partnered with her husband in operating their landscaping business. She was seen a time or two around town doing her part on the riding lawnmower.

Gwen's life was, as most experience, full of ebbs and flows. On January 6, 2021, she transitioned from this troubled world to glorious rest. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Moore; parents, Bascom and Ola Mae Stewart; three siblings (shortly after birth); Peggy Blake, Bascom Stewart III, Ora Stewart, Catherine Johnson, Suzette LeRoy, Dungay Stewart (Olivia Stewart); and Marcus Stewart.

Gwen leaves to mourn her passing, two loving children, Jerome Sherrod, Jr. and Ashley Moore (six loving grand-kids); five (5) brothers and two (2) sisters: George Conners of St. Louis, MO; Carrie B. Stewart, Los Angeles, CA; Jimmie Stewart (Linda) Los Angeles, CA; Sylvia Booker, Birmingham, AL; Gregory Stewart (Debra), Atlanta GA.; Jerry Stewart and Morris Stewart, both of Moss Point, MS.; Gerald LeRoy and Gwendolyn Stewart's two loving in-laws, of many years, both of Moss Point, MS.; a host of nieces, nephews, and countless friends

A viewing will be held at Robinson's Friendly Funeral Home Chapel 4301 Main Street, Moss Point, MS on Saturday, January 16, 2021, at 10 am. A memorial service begins at 11 am.
