Irene Elizabeth Butler passed away Tuesday, October 5, 2021, in Kingston of Ashland surrounded by her family. She was 93.
She was born on February 19, 1928, to parents Amos & Blanche (Craig) Sellers in Hanover Township, Ohio. After Irene graduated from Loudonville High School with the class of 1946, she married Edward T. Butler on February 12, 1947, and they were married for 54 years until Ed's passing in 2001.
Irene worked in the cafeteria as a cook at McMullen Elementary for 20+ years until retiring. She was also a member of the First Baptist Church in Loudonville and took pleasure in baking and crossword puzzles.
She is survived by her children Edward (Peg) Butler, John "Dick" Butler, and Cathy Bowen all of Loudonville; grandchildren Sarah, Katherine, Jennifer, Janelle, Bethany, and Julie; and 10 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Irene was preceded in death by her husband Edward; her siblings Harold Sellers, Donald Sellers, Robert Sellers, James Sellers, Lois Wright, Mary Sellers, Virginia Gaumer, and LaDonna Price
Irene's family will receive friends Saturday, October 9, 2021, from 10 to 11 a.m. in the Snyder Funeral Home- Lindsey Chapel, 123 N. Market Street, Loudonville, with a funeral service beginning immediately at 11 a.m. Rev. Frank Taylor will officiate and burial will take place in Greenlawn Cemetery, Perrysville.
