March 21st, 1948 - October 2nd, 2021

Longtime Alamosa resident Rudy Fred Sanchez, 73, passed away on October 2, 2021. He was born on March 21, 1948 in Alamosa, Colorado to Fred and Madeline (Lara) Sanchez. Rudy enjoyed fishing, going to the casinos, being with his family, riding his bike, going to Dairy Queen and the farmers Markets. His family will miss his delicious popcorn and him dedicating songs to them from the radio.

Rudy is survived by his siblings, Lillian Klutts, Lydia (Luis) Corona, Bernie Sanchez, Lucy Garcia, Ronnie (Helen) Sanchez and Linda Sanchez, his special niece Frances (Joe) Mestas, his special great nieces and nephews April (Jessie) Medina, Matthew (Destiny) Mestas, Akela (Monica) Mestas as well as numerous other nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother Delia Lara, his parents, his brother Gilbert Sanchez and special cousin Ralph Salazar as well as his uncles and aunts Joe and Olivia Martinez and Rose and Roley Montano.

Cremation was chosen and a Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 am on Friday October 8, 2021 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. A recitation of the Rosary will be held at 9:30 am on Friday, prior to the Mass, interment of ashes will follow in the Alamosa Cemetery. Rogers Family Mortuary is in care of the arrangements.
