Frances Parks Cothren Hopkins, age 89, of Ardmore, TN passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at her residence. She was born in Lincoln County, TN on February 2, 1932 to the late Farris Berlin Parks and Ola Mae Honea Parks. Mrs. Hopkins worked her life on her family farm and in clothing factories and was a member of Kelly's Creek Baptist Church. She enjoyed quilting by hand for all of her family.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband: Edward 'Boots' Cothren; son: Roger Cothren; sisters: Inez Parks, Shirley Sykes and Betty Brown; brothers: Roy Parks, Billy Parks and Jimmy Parks; parents-in-law: Edna (Herbert) Cothren, Mable (Andrew) Hopkins and Lewis Blue; sisters-in-law: Loretta Henson and Dorothy Ann Cothren; and step-grandson: Eric Patrick.
Mrs. Hopkins is survived by her husband: Luther Hopkins; son: Charles (Kathy) Cothren; daughter-in-law: Teresa Cothren; grandchildren: Sherie (Jason) Prier, Mandy Hoffmann and Michael (Brea) Cothren; great grandchildren: Emma Prier, Ezra Prier, Joey Patrick, Jessie Patrick, Laken Cothren, Bailey Cothren and Rylan Cothren; great-great grandchild: Chloe Patrick; stepchildren: Tandi (Johnny) Moyers, Kandi Smith (Greg Dunn) and Andy Hopkins; step-grandchildren: Hannah Smith, Amber Hopkins, Elizabeth Moyers, Ella Moyers and Cade Hopkins; step-great grandchildren: Ellison Webb and Jackson Webb; sister: Alease Williford; brother: Mack Parks; sister-in-law: Juanita Hopkins Grissom; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, October 8, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home with Bro. Michael Cothren officiating. Burial will follow in State Line Cemetery. Visitation is Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.
