John Andrew (Andy) Ware, 77, of Boerne, passed away on Saturday, March 6, 2021, at Methodist Specialty and Transplant Hospital in San Antonio. A graveside service was held on Wednesday, March 10, 2021, at 10 a.m. in the Boerne Cemetery.

Andy was born December 10, 1943, to John Oliver Ware and Goldie (Jackson) Ware in Long Beach, California. Andy married Frances Bever on July 12, 1968, in Beaumont, California. They raised two sons, Jacob Nathan Ware and Daniel Jeremiah Ware.

Andy grew up in the Southern California town of Beaumont. He attended San Bernardino Valley College and the University of Arizona School of Pharmacy in Tucson, Arizona. Upon graduation, he returned to Beaumont to begin his pharmacy career.

He married Frances in 1968 and they lived in the Beaumont/Cherry Valley area for several years. They eventually moved to Upland, California, where Andy purchased Mountain Plaza Pharmacy, an independent pharmacy. After eight very busy years, they made a big change and moved to Apopka, Florida, where they purchased a wholesale greenhouse operation, New Nursery Inc. There, they grew five acres of indoor tropical foliage (houseplants), shipping mainly up the East Coast.

In 2008, they retired and moved to Boerne. Here, Andy had time to pursue his interests in plants, antique clocks, mechanical musical instruments and Model T Fords.

Andy is survived by his wife, Frances; his son, Jacob, and wife Alyse of Conifer, Colorado, and their children, Ian and Kora; his daughter-in-law, Brandy Ware, of Apple Valley, California, and her daughter, Autumn; and his extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Goldie (Jackson) Ware; and his son, Daniel Ware.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
