Born November 30, 1936 in Butler, PA, he was the son of the late Floyd R. Montgomery and Anna Bowman Montgomery.
He worked for US Steel, Jerich's Trucking, Melampy Manufacturing and many more. He was a member of the Outdoor Life Lodge. Gump enjoyed auto mechanics, eating wings and dancing.
Surviving are his children, Wes Montgomery, Randy (Heidi) Montgomery, Ed Montgomery and Jim Kies, 20 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and his girlfriend, Phyllis Smock and her 4 children.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his spouses, Edna Montgomery and Diana Montgomery, sister Sally Piper, brother, Robert Montgomery, his sons William G. "Lumpy" Montgomery and Donald F. Montgomery, his daughter, Annmarie Montgomery, and grandson, Paul Stamp, III.
Interment will be in Saxonburg Memorial Church Cemetery.
