Ms. Elsie E. Jones (Zatyko) died peacefully in Tampa, Florida on Saturday September 25, 2021 at the age of 99.
Elsie is survived by her only child Kenneth C. (Julia) Jones from Tampa, Florida, and her sister Carol Ann Casner, from Clearwater, Florida; grandchildren, Jennifer Jones (Michael) Rocha and Wesley (Taylor) Jones; great-grandchildren, Tyler and Reese Rocha and Blakely and Annabelle Jones. She is preceded in death by her two brothers Steven A. Zatyko from Rochester, NY, and George W. Zatyko from Jacksonville, Florida.

Elsie was born on May 17, 1922 in New York City, NY to Ethel Kosa Zatyko and George W. Zatyko. She graduated from Lindenhurst High School, Long Island NY, in 1939. After High School, she became a seamstress and dress maker in Manhattan, NY. She married William Wade Jones, her lifetime love, after Wade returned from active duty after the end of World War II. They met on the boardwalk on Clearwater Beach in 1947, and have been together ever since. They settled in Tampa, where together, they built several homes. In 1952, the couple welcomed their son, Kenneth, into their home, and set about teaching him all the necessary trades needed to succeed in life. He will remember her as a kind and driven mother who encouraged him to pursue his goals, and to always make the best what you have.

Elsie was an excellent housewife that was always at the side of her husband and son. She was also accomplished at sewing, knitting, and clothing design, and was a fantastic chef. During High School, she made many of the outfits that we used in our rock and roll band. She was a dedicated individual who loved her family and friends, and who would do anything to help anyone. She was an active member of the Women's Garden Club.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 30th at 1pm with a funeral service to start at 1:30pm at Blount Curry Macdill, 605 S. Macdill Ave, Tampa FL 33609. Interment will take place at 3pm at Myrtle Hill Memorial Park followed by a 4pm reception at Palma Ceia Golf and Country Club The family would like to thank Hudson Manor Assisted Living Facility and their dedicated staff for the care that they provided to her during her stay.
