She was born September 2, 1928, to Richard and Esta Lee Lawson in Hood, Texas. She attended school in Era and loved to play outdoors as a child. Mildred married Cecil Jones Sr. in Gainesville, Texas. She spent her life as a homemaker, raising two children, in Era. Mildred enjoyed reading her Bible, listening to her gospel tapes, doing word searches, and visiting with anyone who would listen.
She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Lawson; mother, Esta Lee Lawson (Welch); sister, Bertha Bartlett (Lawson); and daughter, Ruth Muller (Jones).
She was survived by her husband, son, three granddaughters, two grandsons, seven great-grandchildren, and one great great-grandchild.
Visitation will be held Thursday, October 7, 2021, from 6pm to 8pm at Meador Funeral Home in Gainesville, Texas. The funeral will be held Friday, October 8, 2021 at 11am at the Meador Funeral home, followed by a graveside service at the Era Cemetery.
