Sidney G. Robertson, affectionately known as "Cop", "Uncle Cop", "Daddy", or "Pop Pee" was a native of St. Martinville, LA. He also lived in Seattle, Washington and Houston, TX before becoming a resident of Lafayette, LA.

Sidney attended school in St. Martinville, LA and was baptized at St. Martin de Tours Church. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army during the Korean War.

Past places of employment included the Hilton Hotels, Martin Mills and Quoyeser, Inc.

The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Sidney. He loved family and enjoyed spending time with them, always ready for a fun-filled event. He would have a blast with the grand and great grandchildren.

He had a big heart, loving everyone. He never met a stranger. He maintained being physically fit through walking. He enjoyed walking, even when other means of transportation were available.

Attending festivals, holiday gatherings, Mardi Gras, especially the parade in St. Martinville, LA, casino trips, playing cards and watching television were some of his favorite activities. He looked forward to coming on Walker Road where he was sure to find delicious food, ice cold beer, and good company. Sidney was always well groomed, with a neat haircut. Everyone would comment and compliment him on being a super-sharp dresser with notable style. Pop Pee loved baseball and Zydeco music. In younger years, he sought out live Zydeco bands at El'Sido's. He was a dedicated fan of the Houston Astros and Atlanta Braves.

We were blessed to learn many valuable lessons from him. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by three children, Reginald Robertson (Doris) of Richland, PA, Anthony Robertson and Charlotte Aylestock Robertson of Tucson, AZ; a stepdaughter, Elaine Figaro (John Sr.) of Lafayette, LA; six grandchildren, Charity Cooper (Mark), Gabriel, Mark and David Robertson (Danielle), Rachael and Nathan Aylestock; two step grandchildren, John Jr. (Robyn) and Andrea Figaro (Dwayne Martin); six great grandchildren; four step great-great grandchildren; one brother, Earl Robertson Sr. (Mary Genevieve) of Houston, TX; step nephews he raised, Maximillian Jones, Willard Comeaux and Jude Robertson, and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
